The summer of Dawntrail has come and gone and it’s time to get back to the grindstone. In this case, it’s event planning for what promises to be the biggest, bestest Feast Reborn yet! We are really excited to announce some of the upcoming changes and returning classics for the 2024 festival. Read on to find out more.
New Team
This year our Feast Reborn team has gone from two+friends to roughly ten people! One of the biggest challenges we had last year was trying to move everything along smoothly without losing any threads and the reality was our cute little street faire had become something much bigger. Watch out in the intervening weeks as we announce our team and what responsibilities they will handle.
New Faire Layout
Another thing we heard last year was people “couldn’t hear” because of the chat-scroll. Fifteen different vendor booths in one small area was just too much for the eyes to handle. People were role-playing in party chat, or not at all, because that’s all they could handle with the amount of scroll. This year, our faire layout will change to feature eight booths in the yard and eight booths inside the house itself. This will not only allow for one additional vendor, it will calm down chat scroll a large amount. We’re working with vendors to ensure the number of people working a booth isn’t daunting, and with the new space we’ll be able to move performers right into the yard so all vendors can enjoy the bards!
Pudding Wrestling & Other Games Return!
This event was added as a bit of a joke and silly moment but turned out to be hugely popular. Due to popular demand it returns as a full-time, full-weekend event. So come and roll in some chocolate pudding and have a deliciously rompering time.
Our spicy food challenge returns, as does our questing game. We found the questing system we developed last year didn’t work quite as intended and we’re changing how that looks this year. Keep watch for more information coming up soon.
Chocobo Squad Assemble!
This year the Prancing Moogle is joining in chocobo form! They, and other volunteers, will be running around the fairegrounds all weekend as Cinnamon, Penelope, and Eggy to help direct people to different booths, different events, answer questions, and bring those introverts off the flower wall and into the party. They’ll handle giveaways all weekend, too!
